Trinidad and Tobago’s own Chef Andre Williams brought home top honors at the prestigious Caribbean Culinary Masters competition held in Miami last weekend, showcasing the region’s incredible culinary talent.
His innovative fusion of traditional Caribbean flavors with modern French techniques wowed a panel of international judges. His winning dish featured callalloo-infused gnocchi with coconut curry sauce and grilled mahi-mahi.
Chef Williams, who operates the popular restaurant “Spice Island Bistro” in St. Ann’s, will represent the region at the World Culinary Championships in Paris next year.
“This win isn’t just for me—it’s for every Caribbean grandmother who taught us that food is love and culture,” Williams said.
