The national beach volleyball team secured their spot at the Pan American Games after a dominant performance at the regional qualifiers in Barbados over the weekend.
The duo of Sarah Mohammed and Kimberly Jones won all their matches without dropping a single set, defeating teams from Jamaica, Barbados, and Puerto Rico. This will be Trinidad and Tobago’s first appearance in beach volleyball at the Pan Am Games in eight years.
The athletes credited their success to intensive training, improved nutrition programs, and unwavering support from the National Sports Authority.
“We trained in extreme heat, worked on our mental game, and trusted each other completely,” Mohammed explained. “This is a dream come true.”
